or seaplane. It has a population of 11000 in the summer. It is well known for its farm stands, homesteading and artistic humans, and for its majestic forest.

About Salt Spring Island

People come here for the laid back feelings, the artistry, small farms, farm stands, local food, outdoors and for the quaintness of its centre.
Ganges is the main town and is complete with cafés, restaurants and stocked health food store.
The Saturday Market is a quintessential island experience.
Lakes abound, beach on every sides and forest walks in the most magical places.

How to get to Salt Spring Island?


 

Closest Airport is Vancouver or Victoria. From there, take a ferry or a seaplane.
You could almost swim!

By ferry, there are a various routes you can take depending on time and day of your arrival.
Fullford Harbour and Long Harbour are the main terminals on Salt Spring. They are accessed by Tsawwassen (Vancouver) and Swartz Bay (Victoria).

Once on island, there is a bus running the main roads, a taxi service and hitch-hiking is common practice.

Where to find Accommodation


For all our spring/summer and fall events: Everyone can camp onsite. You can also choose to rent an airbnb or stay at a local dancer’s place but be aware that the location of the dance space is about 40 minutes from Ganges and 25 min from Fulford.

If you wish to come before and/or stay after our events:
Camping at the majestic Ruckle Park (pictured above) is one of the prime choice for your stay.
We can also help you find you a farm stay with all facilities.

For winter events (none planned atm): We recommend looking into airbnb and other local accommodation linked below.
